/ Alessandri & Compañía with its client Caterpillar in Latin Lawyer Magazine

July 2, 2010

Sebastian Perry speaks to the legal division of US machinery maker Caterpillar about the pressures of providing support to almost every country in Latin America.

Caterpillar has had a presence in Latin America for over 80 years – it paired up with its Ecuadorean distributor, IIASA, in 1924, and its ties with certain other dealers date back more than 50 years. Unsurprisingly, relations with external counsel in some jurisdictions are equally entrenched, often with a particular partner as the main point of contact.

Caterpillar’s preferred law firms include:

  • US Mayer Brown LLP
  • ARGENTINA Allende & Brea
  • CHILE Alessandri & Cía
  • COLOMBIA Brigard & Urrutia Abogados
  • MEXICO Basham Ringe y Correa SC
  • PERU Estudio Olaechea
  • PANAMA Sucre, Arias & Reyes
